Americana Room (est. 1940) Houses the Americana Collection, a repository of over 5,000 documents focusing on early America, and also the Special Collection of NSDAR History.
DAR Library (est. 1896) Materials in genealogy and relevent history ; 145,000 books including unpublisged genealogy typescripts and genealogical periodicals. Public welcom, fee charged.
DAR Museum (est. 1896) 33 State Rooms and Museum Gallery exhibiting American Antiques; collection of approximately 30,000 objects; accredited by AAM; open to public, free, guided yours; Museum Reference Library.
PROMOTION OF EDUCATION

American Heritage (est.1963)
Promotes: programs on art, crafts, drama, literature and music; volunteer work at historic homes, sites, and museum; work on historic preservations.
American History (est.1993)
(formerly American History Month Committee - est 1956)
Sponsors American History Essay Contests. 78,013 essays written by studetns in grades 5,6,7, and 8. 4,420 schools participated.
American Indians (est.1936)
$47,700 contributed for American Indian scholarships and to Bacone Junior College, Oklahoma and to Chemawa Indian School, Oregon for scholarships and special projects.
Children of the American Revolution (est.1954)
Founded 1895 by DAR; provides training in patriotism and leadership.
DAR Good Citizens (est.1934)
Promotes Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism among high school seniors. National Awards presented total $20,750; state awards: cash, pin, certificate. 2,360 chapters sponsored 8,100 Good Citizens.
DAR Magazine (est.1892)
Official publication, 39,000 subscribers; $12 per year.
DAR Scholarship (est.1923)
$8,000 NSDAR American History Scholarship. Also Educational (political science, history, governmetn, ecomioncs), Nursing, Medical and Occupational Therapy.
DAR School (est.1903)
Contributions of nearly $1,000,000 given for Kate Duncan Smith DAR School, Alambama; Tamassee DAR School, South Carolina; Berry College, Georgia; Crossnore School, North Carolina; Hillside School, Massachusetts; Hindman Settlement School, Kentucky. Over 1,200,000 Cambell Soup Labels were collected to be redemed for classroom and recreational equipment.
Junior American Citizens (est.1906)
Citizenship trainign program for boys and girls, kindergarten through high school, over 90,000 members resulted from 1,368 JAC Clubs in parochial, private, or public schools, community centers, etc.
Junior Membership (est.1937)
Ages 18-35; new Juniors; Page at State Conference and Continental Congress. $86,000 to Helen Pouch Memeorial Fund for activities at Kate Duncan Smith and Tamassee DAR Schools.
Volunteer Information Specialists (est.1995)
Encourages communication and exchange of information though computer technology. Promotes membership through on-line referral and genealogical research.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Genealogical Records (est.1913)
Over 108,800 pages of unpublished source records copied and bound for DAR Library.
Lineage Research (est.1961)
Potnetial members assisted; workshops held. Lineage Research Kits.
Seimes Microfilm Center (est.1970)
Depository for NSDAR application and supplementals. Federal Census: 1840 to 1900. State, county, church and cemetary records. Non=member fee charged. Major holding list availiable upon request. Historical and Genealogical societies as well as research groups use center.
PATRIOTIC ENDEAVOR

Americanism and DAR Manual for Citizenship (est.1919)
12 Americanism Medals awarded to outstanding naturalized adult citizens; 30 Medals of Honor presented to native-born adult citizens. Over 65,000 DAR MAnuals for Citizenship were given free.
Commemorative Events (est.1992)
Established for purpose of coordinating celebrations of any future national observances.
Community Service Awards (est.1993)
Medal given to recognize worthy, local people for outstanding achievements in cultural, educational, humanitarian, patriotic and citizenship work in thier communities. More than 400 awards presented.
Conservation (est.1909)
93 Conservation Medals awarded. Emphasis on conserving energy and water, recycling, reforestation and community beautification.
Constitution Week (est.1956)
DAR responsible or annual designation of September 17-23 as Constitution Week to emphasize, defend and preserve the Constitution thru issuing proclamations, news articles, TV and public service announcements.
DAR Service for Veteran-Patients (est.1968)
NSDAR member of National VAVS Advisory Committee; DAT represented in 167 VA Medical Centers; 9 non-VA hospitals. DAR volunteers gave hours, parties, gifts, programs, canteen books, cash, stamps and mileage and time totaling $3,043,700.
Flag of the United States of America (est.1909)
Over 92,300 Flags, including Braille Flags presented; 29,911 Flag Codes and Certificates, and 1,925 Flag Pins distributed.
Motion Picture (est.1923),Radio (est.1928 & 1979) And Television (est.1975)
Cooperates with groups to encourage better films, television, and radio programs. Annual National Award for outstanding services in this area: 1997 winner -- Dayton Duncan, writer and documentary filmaker of "Lewis and Clark:The Journey of the Corps of Discovery".
National Defense (est.1926)
3,911 Good Citizenship Medals awarded to elementary thru high school students; 2,590 gold and bronze ROTC medals presented to outstanding high school and college cadets. Patriotic material availiable for students.
